Privacy Policy
How QuietRate handles app and website data.
QuietRate is publicly available on the App Store. Its production rate configuration is established and is described below.
QuietRate’s own collection
QuietRate does not require an account and does not collect app data into a QuietRate-operated or developer-side user-data service.
QuietRate does not include advertising, tracking, third-party analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, IP geolocation, Core Location permission, or App Tracking Transparency.
Data stored on your device
QuietRate stores app preferences and rate data needed for local functionality on your device. This may include selected currencies, currency order, current app state, cached source observations, effective dates, provenance, and QuietRate-derived rate data.
This information is used for app functionality, persistence between launches, and cache or offline behavior. A locally stored retrieval time does not change the effective date assigned by the source.
QuietRate may use StoreKit storefront information to select a storefront currency. It does not request location permission or retain raw storefront, region, or language values as a user profile.
Retention and deletion
QuietRate does not maintain a user account or developer-side personal-data store. Local app data remains under the device’s normal iOS app-management behavior. Because there is no QuietRate account or server-side user profile, there is no QuietRate account-deletion dashboard or developer-side deletion portal.
Exchange-rate network requests
QuietRate’s production rate requests connect to:
- api.frankfurter.dev to retrieve European Central Bank (ECB) observations with the provider explicitly pinned to ECB
- www.taifex.com.tw to retrieve Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) reference-rate observations
If you choose to open source or legal links, your browser may also connect to websites operated by the ECB or Taiwan’s Government Data Open Platform.
Independent service infrastructure
Ordinary HTTPS connections may expose standard connection or request metadata, such as an IP address and request headers, to the independent infrastructure serving a request.
Frankfurter states that its API itself does not collect personal data, while its public service runs behind Cloudflare, which may collect basic information for analytics. TAIFEX’s privacy statement says its website and query services may automatically record technical information such as IP address, device or operating-system information, time of use, browser or language information, and information selected for aggregate service analysis.
Those are independent provider-side infrastructure practices. QuietRate does not operate or receive those provider-side logs, and this policy does not assert that every field described in a provider’s website policy is necessarily emitted by a QuietRate iOS request.
Website
When you visit quietrate.app, the infrastructure used to host the website may process standard technical information associated with serving a webpage, such as IP addresses, browser information, and request logs, according to the hosting provider’s own practices.
The QuietRate website does not include analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, external web fonts, or cookies set by QuietRate.
Children’s privacy
QuietRate is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if QuietRate’s release configuration, network architecture, or privacy practices change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date shown at the top of this page.
